Originally I learned the "Moon Cycle" from John Scott, a sequence of postures you would practice on Moon days. I spent a week workshop at his studio in Cornwall where one day my moon cycle started and John taught this sequence to me. WhIle others practiced the Ashtanga sequence John put me in these restorative postures and draped a warm blanket over me in each one. It was such a wonderful experience that I immediately started using this in my own teachings.
Over the years I adapted the sequence as not everyone could sit with completely bend knees for as long as the Moon Cycle required. I adapted it and the result was this sequence where each pose should be held for about 8-10 minutes. Play some soft flute music along and you will be doing yourself a huge favor!
